Shamar Na’il Star, born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan , is a Singer, Song Writer, Producer and Music Arranger. As young boy’s Shamar and his brother Stephan Knight had a love for songs, and music.They also took an interest in learning to play the Guitar.
Shamar and Stephan convinced their mother to buy Shamar a bass guitar and Stephan a lead guitar for Christmas. That was a large request because their parents finances was limited because they had to buy presents for a total of 10 children.
The brothers promised and convinced their parents they would learn to play their guitars. Not only did they learn to play their guitars, the brothers taught themselves to play. The brothers played the guitars very well
When they were older, they joined a couple ofgroups and they sung and played in various clubs in Grand Rapids. Shamar moved to Los Angeles California . While there, he joined a group called Dateline. The group recorded a remake of the song Earth Angel on the record label Electra records. They worked with producer George Tobin.
After spending time in LA, Shamar returned to Grand Rapids ,Mich, and concentrated on developing his talent of song writing and producing songs. Shamar and Stephan wrote and produced over 100 songs. They produced videos for some of their songs. They wrote and arranged a beautiful gospel single titled ,God is Good along with Bunny Debarge and producer Kevin Bond. The brothers have done work with Producer/Engineer Dennis Witherspoon. They produced the QSD Project
Shamar has also worked with Robyn Robins, who played the organ and keyboard for Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. Robyn Robins mixed and mastered some of Shamar’s songs. Shamar’s newest release song and Lyric Video is titled , Just a touch of love. The song is available on I Tunes, Spotify , Apple music, Pandora and other streaming platforms.
