After running up a few decades of accolades via her storied associations with MJ, Alice Cooper, Dave Stewart and Richie Sambora, Orianthi’s signing with Woodward Avenue Records marked a new phase of her career – and a cool creative path towards integrating her legendary, blistering guitarisma with her dynamic talents as a soulful singer, songwriter and impactful heartfelt storyteller.
With a vibe rooted in her longtime love for organic, 60’s-70’s blues-rock sound, no song better embodied the emotional urgency of her emergence than “Ghost,” the hard hitting second lead single from her 2025 album Some Kind of Feeling, which was produced by legendary rock producer Kevin Shirley and ultimately became the #1 Jazz & Blues album in the UK. As she posted on her Facebook page at the time, “Ghost is about a love that didn’t last long, but the memories haunt every time you feel love again…thinking it will leave you out of nowhere. I guess we have all felt that…when you look back you realize all the signs were there but didn’t pay attention to intuition, which is our strongest life compass.”
The song’s wildly infectious hook and highly relatable lyrical narrative, combined with one of Ori’s most intense vocal performances, makes “Ghost” the perfect choice for the singer’s first venture into the dance/club realm via a powerhouse remix by Grammy winning DJ, producer and remixer Dave Audé, who holds the record for the most number-one remixes on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. As one of the artists Audé has remixed, Ori joins the superstar likes of Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Selena Gomez, Madonna, and Britney Spears.

Like you’d never leave me, leave me leave me?” Then as the hypnotic, throbbing and hard thumping groove that drives the track kicks in, she brings her sensual vocals to the first verse before the relentless beats stop and she gets back to an even more searing expression of the searing questions.
After a sea of booming drums accompany her lines (also in the original chorus), “Now that it’s all over, I just need some closure/’Cause I’m still living with your ghost, a brassy fanfare blasts and the dance begins anew, accompanied by more of the synth horn excitement and topped with the singer’s repeated percussive vocalizations (“oosh”). When Orianthi ooshes, she means business – to the guy who ghosted her and to us!
It’s a killer formula that repeats with the second verse and another iteration of the questions, with intensifying and highly creative sounds that take us on the same journey, only amped up for the dance floor. Ori’s amazing vocal and songwriting artistry is introduced to a fresh new audience who will never tire of this remix.
