Before her death in 2019, VENEZUELAN Latin Jazz legend, María Rivas recorded a Christmas song with New York songwriter Ruth Pollack Pappas.

Born in Caracas, María Rivas was a Venezuelan latin jazz singer. She began singing professionally in 1983, but soon moved to Aruba where for 2 years she performed in a nightly Jazz show.
Later she continued her music career in Miami where she also became a leading voice in the environmental movement, and her musical message as a composer often had ecological undertones.
Rivas recorded 11 albums as soloist and was nominated for a Latin grammy in 2018
